While Israelis remain divided on numerous political and domestic issues, confronting the threat posed by Iran is a point of broad agreement, Rabbi Yaakov Menken said Monday on Newsmax.
Menken, executive vice president of the Coalition for Jewish Values, told “Bianca Across the Nation” that “the understanding is very widespread in Israel that the Iranian regime is openly genocidal and motivated by religion in a way that’s actually very dangerous.”
He warned that Iran would pose an even greater danger if it acquired nuclear weapons, arguing that the regime’s hostility toward Israel makes its nuclear ambitions a serious security concern.
Menken also praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s willingness to confront Tehran despite international criticism.
Menken added that President Donald Trump’s endorsement of Netanyahu in the election is recognizing the Israeli leader’s determination to stand against the regime — that the prime minister has a “very fearless attitude.”
Menken argued that Netanyahu has demonstrated a willingness to prioritize Israel’s security despite pressure from foreign critics.
Menken also criticized what he characterized as growing antisemitism internationally and pointed to concerns about radical Islamist movements in Europe as part of the broader security environment facing Israel.
