President Donald Trump said Monday that he persuaded Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to call off striking Beirut, saying the Israeli leader “turned his troops around” after their conversation.

“I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu today, asking him not to conduct a major raid on Beirut, Lebanon,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

“He turned his troops around. Thank you, Bibi!” he added.

“I also had a conversation with representatives of the leaders of Hezbollah, and they agreed to stop shooting at Israel and its soldiers,” Trump added before stating that “Israel agreed to stop shooting at them. Let’s see how long that lasts. Hopefully, it will be for eternity!” he said.

Trump’s remarks came after Netanyahu said Israel would hit “terror targets” in Beirut if Hezbollah did not stop attacking Israel.

He also shared a post on X stating that the Israeli military would continue operations in southern Lebanon.

President Donald Trump reportedly “steamrolled” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a heated call Monday over Israel’s military operations in Lebanon.

According to Axios, citing officials, Trump expressed frustration over Israel’s actions against Hezbollah, saying the increased pressure could complicate negotiations with Iran.

Summarizing Trump’s remarks to Netanyahu, a U.S. official reportedly said the president said: “You’re f—ing crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your a–. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this.”

A second source said Trump was “pissed” and at one point yelled at Netanyahu: “What the f— are you doing?” Another source told the outlet Trump had “steamrolled” Netanyahu during the call.

The call between the two leaders came after Iran threatened to end negotiations with the U.S. over Israel’s actions in Lebanon.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the White House for comment.

The Israeli military said it intercepted two projectiles that crossed from Lebanon into northern Israel early Tuesday local time.

In a statement, the military said sirens sounded in several areas before the projectiles were intercepted. It added that a suspected aerial target later fell inside Israeli territory near the Lebanese border.

No injuries were reported.

The military also said missile and rocket alerts were activated during the interception attempts.

The incident happened within hours of President Donald Trump saying Monday that both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hezbollah would stop attacks under the Lebanon ceasefire.

Iran’s foreign minister also said a lasting truce in Lebanon is essential to any U.S. agreement and warned that a breach on any front would be treated as a violation of the entire deal.

Tehran’s conservatives are challenging their own hard-line fringe after a radical lawmaker accused President Masoud Pezeshkian of accepting April’s ceasefire with the United States without Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei’s approval.

According to Iran International, the conservatives publicly rebuked MP Kamran Ghazanfari after he claimed Pezeshkian had undermined Khamenei’s authority.

In a video that went viral, Ghazanfari questioned why Pezeshkian accepted the ceasefire without Khamenei’s permission.

He also alleged that the president had accepted an unauthorized ceasefire during an earlier 12-day conflict, arguing that stopping military operations “saved America and Israel from the crushing blows of Iran’s missiles and drones.”

President Donald Trump’s proposal to move Iran’senriched uranium out of the country is “difficult but not impossible” to achieve, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Monday.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi told Al Jazeerathat a transfer like that was “not easy, because this is in gas form, highly contaminant, and it’s not an easy operation”

He also confirmed that other options are being considered, including “downblending” the uranium into a less potent form.

“All of these things are the things we have been discussing,” Grossi added.

Iran is estimated to have around 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to approximately 60%. Trump wants to move the stockpile abroad.

Grossi told the outlet he is in contact with both Tehran and Washington over the matter and said the IAEA’s role is to “make it possible, to make it viable.”

Iran deal possible ‘over the next week’ after resolving 'little glitch’ says Trump

President Donald Trump / Ken Cedeno / Reuters

President Donald Trump said Monday that he thinks he will have an agreement with Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz within the next week.

“There was a little glitch today, but I turned that one around very quickly, as you probably noticed earlier,” Trump said during an interview with ABC News.

The glitch, Trump said, was that Tehran was angry over Israel’s attacks on Lebanon.

“So, I spoke with Hezbollah, and I said no shooting, and I talked to Bibi, and said, no shooting, and they both stopped shooting each other,” Trump said.

On the topic on when an agreement would be reached, Trump said, “I think you’re talking about over the next week,” ABC News reported.

“Long live the resistance! Long live the defense of the motherland! Long live the brotherhood of the Iranian and Lebanese peoples!” he added.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed Monday that its forces had targeted the MSC Sariska V with a cruise missile in retaliation for a U.S. military strike on the Iran-bound, Gambia-flagged bulk carrier Lian Star in the Sea of Oman, Iran International reported.

The IRGC described the ship as owned by an “American-Israeli enemy,” the outlet said.

Earlier Monday, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) received a report of an incident involving a cargo vessel approximately 40 nautical miles southeast of Umm Qasr, Iraq.

The incident was the third reported attack on a commercial vessel off Iraq since the U.S.-Iran conflict started Feb. 28.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force commander, Esmaeil Qaani, said Monday that Israeli military operations in Lebanon and Gaza could lead Iran and its allies to take steps that could affect maritime traffic in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian state media reported.

Reuters also reported the remarks.

“The evil of the Zionists (Israel) in Lebanon and Gaza, in the shadow of the shameless support of America, will mark the determination of the resistance axis to expand support from both fronts, take steps to activate other fronts, and equate the traffic situation of the Bab El Mandeb Strait with the Strait of Hormuz,” Qaani said.
