President Donald Trump said Sunday that any deal his administration reaches with Iran would be “good and proper” and sharply contrasted it with the Obama-era nuclear agreement.
“If I make a deal with Iran, it will be a good and proper one, not like the one made by Obama, which gave Iran massive amounts of CASH, and a clear and open path to a Nuclear Weapon,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
“Our deal is the exact opposite, but nobody has seen it, or knows what it is. It isn’t even fully negotiated yet,” he said.
“So don’t listen to the losers, who are critical about something they know nothing about,” Trump added, saying that “unlike those before me who should have solved this problem many years ago, I don’t make bad deals!”

Iran says oil exports cannot be reduced to zero, cites secret routes
Iran’s oil exports cannot be reduced to zero despite pressure and sanctions, an economic adviser to Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said Sunday, according to reports.
Masoumeh Aghapour said Iran has alternative export routes and oil infrastructure beyond its main hub at Kharg Island and the country’s southern export terminals, Iran International reported.
“We have other routes and other oil resources in other regions for exports, which we are not going to reveal,” she said, without providing further details.

UK prepares Strait of Hormuz deployment to clear mines once US-Iran deal reached: report

Hundreds of British sailors are preparing to deploy to the Strait of Hormuz to help clear mines, according to The Associated Press.
The outlet reported Sunday that, once a deal is reached between the U.S. and Iran, the RFA Lyme Bay, docked off the coast of Gibraltar, will leave for the Middle East.
The vessel is being loaded with ammunition and mine-hunting sea drones equipped with sonar. It is expected to join the British destroyer HMS Dragon and allied ships providing air support before transiting the Suez Canal en route to the Persian Gulf.
Iran could deploy a “huge” variety of mines throughout the strait, Cmdr. Gemma Britton, head of the Royal Navy’s Mine and Threat Exploitation Group, told the outlet.
The mines could be rocket-propelled, tethered by cables or placed on the seabed and may be triggered by sound, movement or light.
The autonomous systems aboard the Lyme Bay use sonar to scan the seabed and surrounding waters, mapping potential threats in roughly half the time of traditional ships.

Iran threatens to quit nuclear treaty, break ‘naval blockade’ in Strait of Hormuz: report

Mohsen Rezaei, a military adviser to IranianSupreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, said Sunday that managing the Strait of Hormuz was Tehran’s “legal right” to ensure national security, according to reports.
“Iran’s management of the Strait of Hormuz ends 50 years of insecurity in the Persian Gulf,” Iranian news agencies quoted Rezaei as saying, according to The Jersusalem Post.
Rezaei, who is subject to U.S. sanctions, also said that Iran has “strong reasons” for keeping control over the Strait, claiming Tehran’s objective is to prevent the Persian Gulf from becoming a center for military deployments and instability.
Rezaei’s remarks were published Sunday by Mehr News Agency, a semi-official Iranian news outlet.
Meanwhile, Iran’s official IRGC spokesperson Ibrahim Al-Fiqar warned if Hormuz was attacked, Tehran’s forces would break the US blockade of Iranian ports.
At the same time, Al-Fiqar also threatened Iran leaving the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT)
“If the enemy attacks the Strait of Hormuz, we will break the naval blockade and may withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT),” he said Sunday in a post shared on X.

Oil prices fall as US, Iran continue negotiations on peace deal to end the war
Oil prices fell Monday as the U.S. and Iran continued negotiations on a peace deal aimed at ending the war.
Reuters reported that concerns persisted over restrictions on Middle East oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz and the potential impact on global economic growth.
Brent crude futures fell $4.64, or 4.48%, to $98.90 a barrel by 10:03 p.m. GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell $4.42, or 4.58%, to $92.18 a barrel, the oulet said.

Rubio says Hezbollah destabilizing Lebanon as terror chief calls for government overthrow

Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday accused Hezbollah of trying to plunge Lebanon further into turmoil, condemning calls by its leader to overthrow the government.
Naim Qassem had suggested Sunday that supporters take to the streets to topple the government, according to reports.
In a statement Rubio said Hezbollah had ignored repeated calls from Lebanon’s government to respect the ceasefire and halt attacks.
“Instead, it has continued firing on Israeli positions and moving fighters and weapons into southern Lebanon,” Rubio said.
“This is a deliberate campaign to destabilize the country and maintain its power at the expense of the future of the Lebanese people.”
Rubio said Lebanon’s government was working toward recovery, reconstruction and stability with “the full support of the United States.”
“Hezbollah, by contrast, is actively trying to drag Lebanon back into chaos and destruction,” Rubio said, adding that the era in which a terrorist group could hold an entire nation hostage “is coming to an end.”

Hezbollah tunnel dismantled in southern Lebanon, IDF says prepared to ‘resume intense combat’
Israeli troops uncovered and dismantled a 100-meter Hezbollah tunnel in southern Lebanon containing four hideout rooms, according to Israel’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said they were monitoring developments across the region and were ready to resume military operations.
“Near Mount Dov on Israel’s northern border, IDF troops uncovered and dismantled a Hezbollah underground terror tunnel in southern Lebanon,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a post shared on X.
“The approximately 100-meter tunnel contained four hideout rooms — another example of Hezbollah turning southern Lebanon into a military launching pad against Israel,” it said.
The IDF also said in a statement that they were continuing to monitor regional developments and forces were “prepared to resume intense combat operations immediately and to further weaken the Iranian terror regime and its capabilities.”
The IDF added that hostile aircraft and suspicious aerial targets had been identified in northern Israel on Sunday.

Hezbollah chief rejects talks with Israel, warns disarmament ‘unacceptable’

Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem urged Lebanon to abandon plans for direct talks with Israel as pressure builds ahead of a new round of negotiations between the two nations.
In statements shared by Hezbollah media channels, Qassem said disarming the group is “unacceptable” and warned it would amount to “annihilation.”
“Direct negotiations are completely unacceptable and are a pure gain for Israel,” he said.
“Abandon the direct negotiations and do not give to America so that it gives to Israel … don’t be with them and stab us in the back,” he added, according to The Times of Israel.
Lebanon is preparing for a fourth round of discussions with Israel in Washington in June.

A framework agreement with Iran was “95% there” as of Sunday, officials told Fox News, though they said negotiators were still haggling over “language” detailing Tehran’s nuclear stockpile and the Strait of Hormuz.
“We are not going to roll over. We are not there yet on a deal. We are not going to sign a deal today or tomorrow,” the official said before adding that President Donald Trump’s “instinct is to give them 5, 6, 7 days” to get an agreement over the line.
The official confirmed a “No Dust, No Dollars” policy was guiding negotiations, adding that Iran had agreed “in principle to the framework, and we are 95% there.”
“We have a deal on the nuclear stockpile and the Strait of Hormuz but are negotiating language,” the official said, reiterating the administration’s “No Dust, No Dollars” approach.
“We have the opportunity to make a deal that will lower costs for Americans while ensuring the Iranians do not get a nuclear weapon,” the official added.
“We are not going to do a bad deal, that’s for sure. We have optionality and can resume military strikes if a deal is not reached.”
Trump also instructed negotiators Sunday “not to rush into a deal” and stressed that “time is on our side.”
On Saturday, Trump said a deal with Iran — which he described as a “memorandum of understanding” — had been “largely negotiated.”

Graham urges Trump to ‘stick to your guns’ in Iran deal, calls for expanded Abraham Accords

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., urged President Donald Trump on Sunday to remain steadfast as Washington continued working toward finalizing an agreement with Tehran over the war.
“If, in fact, as a result of these negotiations to end the Iranian conflict, our Arab and Muslim allies in the region agree to join the Abraham Accords, it would make this agreement one of the most consequential in the history of the Middle East,” Graham wrote on X.
Graham also highlighted Trump’s earlier remarks about Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Pakistan joining the Abraham Accords, calling the president’s suggestion “beyond transformative for the region and world.”
“It is a brilliant move by President Trump,” Graham said.
Speaking directly to U.S. Gulf allies, Graham added: “I expect, as President Trump has suggested, you will in fact join the Abraham Accords, effectively ending the Arab-Israeli conflict.”
“If you refuse to go down this path, as suggested by President Trump, it will have severe repercussions for our future relationships and make this peace proposal unacceptable,” he continued. “Further, it would be seen by history as a major miscalculation.”
“President Trump: Stick to your guns in getting a good deal with Iran,” Graham reiterated, adding that it was “equally important” to insist Saudi Arabia and other nations join the Abraham Accords as part of the negotiations.

US Army hits 2026 recruiting goals four months early, Hegseth announces at West Point commencement
The United States Army reached its recruiting goals for 2026 four months early, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth revealed during a commencement speech Saturday at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.
“Recruitments are up across the joint force, and I’m pleased to announce that, just two days ago, the U.S. Army met its 2026 recruiting goals four months early,” Hegseth said.
“A second record year in a row. That means you’re about to train this group right here and lead 61,500 new soldiers. And next year, when we grow the size of the army, it will be even more when you’re out there in your formations as platoon leaders at the tip of the spear. You will be at the tip of the spear of their snapback.”
In 2025, the Army set a goal of 61,000 and exceeded it with 62,050, according to the Pentagon.
“The men and women who chose to serve our nation are actively showing their commitment to something larger than themselves,” Command Sgt. Maj. Danny Basham, United States Army Recruiting Division command sergeant major, said in a statement. “The nation depends on their strength, character and commitment.”
During Hegseth’s speech, the war secretary also criticized previous military policy of focusing on diversity goals and “anti-American ideologies.”
“They embraced the DEI craze and tried to introduce diversity and inclusion studies, and they hired professors who advocated for anti-American ideologies right here in these halls. But no more. West Point is set apart. It’s special. It’s above politics. Success here is based on merit. It’s how you perform that matters. This is the United States Military Academy,” he said.

US weighing ‘significant accommodations’ on sanctions if Iran bends on enriched uranium: official
The U.S. may be willing to make “significant accommodations” for Iran on sanctions relief if the nation’s leaders are willing to make a similar accommodations to the U.S. on enriched uranium, a senior administration official told Fox News on Sunday.
The official downplayed reports that the deal could be signed on Sunday, saying Tehran’s system “does not move fast enough.”
“Our plan is to deal with all of their stockpile of the enriched material,” the official said. “We see the Iranians making some serious accommodations on these questions that we didn’t see before.”
“If the Iranians make significant accommodations on the enrichment question then we will make significant accommodations on sanctions relief,” the official continued.
“Even in the IRGC’s own propaganda, they did not talk about tolling the Strait of Hormuz. Our position is quite clear. We don’t think that a toll is an acceptable outcome,” the official added.

Trump says Iran talks are ‘orderly and constructive,’ vows Tehran won’t obtain nuclear weapon
President Donald Trump says the negotiations with Iran are proceeding in an “orderly and constructive” manner on Sunday, but he reiterated America’s hardline stances.
Trump compared the talks to U.S.-Iran negotiations under former President Barack Obama, which he said produced “One of the worst deals ever made by our Country.”
Trump made the comment in a lengthy post to his Truth Social account, arguing the current talks were the “opposite” of Obama’s negotiations.
“The negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner, and I have informed my representatives not to rush into a deal in that time is on our side. The Blockade will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed. Both sides must take their time and get it right. There can be no mistakes! Our relationship with Iran is becoming a much more professional and productive one,” Trump wrote.
“They must understand, however, that they cannot develop or procure a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb. I would like to thank, thus far, all of the countries of the Middle East for their support and cooperation, which will be further enhanced and strengthened by their joining the Nations of the historic Abraham Accords and, who knows, perhaps the Islamic Republic of Iran would like to join, as well!” he added.
